September 1

Today's assignment:  Draw something you've made.  This is the corner of a beaded piece I did several years ago using a century old, golden holy card of St. Genovefa, the patron saint of Paris.  The first time she saved the city from starvation by ferrying food while the city was under siege.  The second time, St. Genovefa and her sisters faced down Attila the Hun and his army at the gates of Paris.  Whole armies couldn't manage this, but a group of nuns did.  Speaking truth to power, a 1600 year old tradition for religious women.

Normally I would have photographed all of last month's origami.  Unfortunately that will have to wait until tomorrow since I've spent a large portion of the day dealing with my closet which collapsed this afternoon.  In theory, this closet unit can support up to 1200 pounds.  In reality empty gift boxes and knit shirts are apparently a lot heavier than they look.

No one real harm was done and, thankfully, no cats were napping in there when it happened, but what a nuisance.  Piling things on chairs in the living room is really not an ideal closet system.  Thankfully no company is due anytime soon....  Mary
