We have had the winter-that-wasn't.  Even though there have been no six foot snow piles along the driveways and blocking visibility at the intersections and the temperatures have been moderate to down right warm, all our vegetation still died back.  The trees lost their leaves.  The bushes are all bare.  But today our first little yellow crocus popped open.  I didn't get home from work in time to see them opened to the sun, they had still come up.  Life is good....  Mary
