The building I work in at the University had a fire today.  It was in a lab on the fourth floor (my office is on the first) and on the other side of the building.  It was a three alarm fire with five ladder trucks, two haz-mat trucks, and many smaller vehicles with the streets blocked off and traffic diverted.  We were all evacuated, and thankfully no one was hurt. 

Our portion of the building will be open tomorrow, and there will be a scramble to find rooms for today's rescheduled classes and for the ones that will be displaced tomorrow.  I'm planning on dressing warmly since we'll have to work with the windows open to continue airing out the building....  Mary

The two origami spinners were each made from six modular pieces like the gray one.  Very simple folds fitted together to make more complex pieces.  Very fun....  Mary

I wasn't sure how this would work with the different colored papers, but it worked very simply and turned out quite nicely....  Mary

Again, really like these modular pieces so I can repeat the folds over and over.  What could be more fun than a pinwheel box?  And Jimmy the Groundhog did not see his shadow this morning, so that means an early spring....  Mary
